Baby Step

Went to see an ID's design on Saturday. Was expecting a 3D computerised layout, but she only provided us with a hand-drawn layout, which was full of errors and not very professional, without colors.
She had failed to take note of what we wanted and did not give us a detailed quote. She just referred us to the initial package offer they had, but it was not to what we wanted.
She was the first and only ID who had drafted a layout of the house, but was another disappointment...
We decided not to go for CompleteHome D'zign....

Went to the furniture shop just next to it, think it was 'Bedding Saloon'. After trying out various Serta mattresses, bf decided to go for Sisilia range, costing $1899....It was love at first try for him. For me, I'm fine with anything...Ha!

There was actually a promotion for the Serta mattress with its 'bedframe' ($2199), but I didnt like the frame. The mattress just sit on it and the thickness looks so intimidating...Then, I spotted a bedframe with microsuede material, which could be detached for washing...Bf agreed it was nice. The original price was $1399, but since we had purchased a mattress from them, the boss agreed to let us have it for $899. It still sounded expensive, but bf said it was worth it, as we would still have to pay that price for a frame elsewhere.

We only paid a deposit for the two items, and bf made sure that the salesperson actually wrote a sentence at the bottom of the invoice, citing that full refund is possible if we are able to find the mattress at a cheaper price elsewhere...Ha!

Danger in the Park

I was jogging in a park in Jurong on Monday, when I heard a hissing sound, and spotted a black snake disappearing into a drainage hole...it was such a shock for me! I had never expected a snake in a neighbourhood park!
I suspected the snake was responsible for the absence of the rats in that park too...Prior to the incident, I had always come across many rats scurrying in the park, and always had to stay vigilant so that I woulnt step on them with my clumsy feet...
The snake terrified me so much that I could feel goosebumps on my skin, when I jogged, and instead of jogging, I ended up running away for my life...
The next day, I reported the incident to Jurong Town Council, which was responsible for that area. They despatched their pest control contractor to attempt to locate that black menace. But after two operations, they still failed to locate it. Now, would they think I'm pulling their legs?
Was I too stressed to the extent that I saw a mirage? Or was the contractor doing its work? Or did the Town Council get the right park?
Think I gotta find some other place to jog, else instead of destressing myself, I'll be stressing myself even more with the constant thought of the snake in my mind...
And one more thing...Ah Teng, watch where you run the next time...Pls wear your contacts!

Duno it's I'm reaping what I had sowed, or repaying for my debts in previous life, or God is trying to test my faith...I'm really sick of this life....
I shouldn't be complaining, coz there are lotsa poor people who lead a worse life than me...But even poor people have happier lives...rich people might not be happy, but they could make others happy with their money...Me? I'm poor, financially, mentally and physically....

At this point of life, I still duno what my merits are, though I could cite a long list of demerits...I duno what I want in life, and what true family ties mean...what was God thinking when he created Adam & Eve? And what was he thinking when he created me?

Doubt I could pull through the exams this time...maybe my resignation was a mistake...my frens would prob encourage me with their words, but do they really know my feelings???

It’s a brand new week again…though it’s gona be a short one for m, coz Wednesday is my last day at work…
Last week has been a pretty short week, as I had been pretty excited at the thought of ‘the day’ approaching soon…The week prior to that was filled with fear & loneliness… Been feasting a lot lately…maybe it’s time to kick in some diet? Hmm….(thinking of my last row of Royce chocz awaiting in the fridge)…diet can wait, but not food rite?

Missed my weekly 3-hours session of CSI yesterday… Couldn’t believe my retired dad could actually watch the tube the whole day…Multiply that by 7 days per week, 4 weeks per month, and so on…

Couldn’t concentrate on my homework as well, due to the blaring TV and noisy construction site work carried out just in front of my block…Thank god my sister wasn’t at home, and I had the room to myself…

Ended up reading this book titled ‘The Devil Wears Prada’…It’s quite nice, just for the fact that the leading lady has a devilish boss who orders her to do everything, from sending & picking up her soiled laundry, to getting Harry Potter books for her two bratty daughters, and buying basil for her cook… Gosh! That boss is definitely a devil! She makes my current section head a lamb…Baa…Baa…

With the last episode of Princess LuLu over (which I didn’t catch, due to my dad watching the TV again, and kinda lost interest coz neither the female & male leads are that great-looking), I got addicted to another Korean flick – Full House (浪漫滿屋). The drama features the popular actress Song Hye Kyo & singer Rain….The storyline is like this...

“After coming back from a trip to China that her friends paid for, Han Ji Eun finds out that they did so only to sell her house while she was away. She returns and finds that the new owner of the house is none other than famous actor Lee Young Jae, whom she happened to meet on her trip. Circumstances bring Young Jae and Ji Eun into a marriage by contract, making them appear as a couple to the public. National Day falls on this Wednesday, 9th August...Please don't ask me how old she is...think 46? More or less there...ain't a 100% devoted national, am I?
It's lucky that I still remember the date she gained independence...well, it is a public holiday & I get the day off, don't I? *chuckles*

Stepsis brought her month-old baby boy, Issac to my house last Saturday... The little chap got a high forehead with pointed ears and head like an elf...Oh! I like elves coz they appear in fairy tales...I never get sick of reading the fairy tale about the enchanted woods & the rocking chair that could fly...(digressing again) Issac spent most of the time sleeping...thank god else he probably would get on my nerves with all the crying...Here's a pix of the small guy...

Went to the Tropical homes fair at Expo last Saturday...dun think I'll go to another home fair again. Couldn't stand the pesky salespeople who kept telling me this and that...and there's this lady from St Louis furniture who kept insisting that I signed up for a furniture immediately (I only wanted to get her namecard for later reference...and succeeded so after asking the 3rd time). My friend told me that decorating a new flat is a fun process, but I think after seeing one ID & home fair, I had enough...it's so tiring that I had to spend the whole weekend to sleep off the weariness...no more home ideas till collection of keys!

Expecting nothing this week, except the dreadful Sun with a whole day of class...*sighs*

Left the dental clinic yesterday, with a numb mouth and $900 poorer...all thanks to my precious tooth...hopefully I don't have to go through another round of root canal treatment...still gotta go back to the clinic for crown treatment next week...*sighs* Now I could hardly chew my food properly without risking a cry from my operated tooth...

Now the good news is...

I've received the mail from Oxford Brookes University...I had passed the RAP & they are going to award me a degree! *phew* At least, I didn't waste my time & $...

I happened to be within the premises of a condominium last Saturday, when I witnessed a familiar scene...

A , sporting the same black-and-white fur as Sylvester the cat, was sitting very still on a fence. It was straining its neck and staring really hard at a bird in a cage hung outside the ground floor unit...

Suddenly, the leaped from its place and lodged itself on the cage...The poor bird started fluttering its wings so hard...Just as the cat was about to get what it wanted, the owner of the bird dashed out to the bird's rescue! Poor cat got such a fright that it dropped down from the cage and scrambled for its life!

I tried not to laugh at the comical scene...it was like Tweety & Slyvester....The owner looked so mad, and hopefully, he wasn't mad at me for not intervening in the act...I had almost succeeded in taking a snap with my camera hp...Oops...Lucky that the owner didn't see what I was doing, else I probably would suffer a death worse than the

First day of classes

Will be starting my 1st class today - Paper 3.6, Advanced Corporate Reporting...
Back in primary and secondary school days, I used to enjoy the 1st day of school after a term break, coz it was always refreshing to see your classmates back in school again...Wonder why organisations don't offer term breaks for their employees as well...it's good for the soul...

Frankly speaking, after skipping a term, I doubt I'll be able to cope with the new term... These 3 core papers are real killer papers! A friend of mine had been stuck with them for 3 terms, despite her background in accounting, and that she is with the infamous PWC... How could I, a lowly clerk, compare with her?

It doesn't help with the exam papers being scheduled on consecutive days...*gulps*

I wish, I wish, for my upcoming birthday... that my fairy godma will accede to my request for a brain with faster processing speed (100x better than Pentium 4) and bigger memory space (100GB) and more time...and more wishes!!!

Expecting a busy schedule next week...classes on 2 days, a friend's ROM, meeting with the geomancer & eye treatment for my panda eyes...still thinking whether I should take Mon off to watch the World Cup finals...

Teething Problems

Met up with Ah Teng yesterday for lunch at Cafe Cartel. After a meal of tough chix breast, I had to go to the dentist due to a suspicion that my tooth filling had come off...Took time-off and left office early...

My frantic search for a dental clinic started from Orchard, to Bt Batok West...BB Central...Jurong East and back to BB West again. Business seems particularly good at those clinics, and no dentist could fit me in between their appointments. Towards the end of the day, I was prepared to do without one...

Thank God that I had my luck at the last attempt. Left the clinic with two fillings, polished teeth and lighter purse...

Sad thing is I couldn't eat the mini M&Ms given to me by Ah Teng...

Moral of the story: Always brush your teeth well...and avoid eating too much chocz...

Today is the 2nd day of the week...and another day of boredom in the office...Nothing perks me up...lunch is horrible - greasy noodle with fatty chix cutlet (more fats than meat)...Could my blues be due to the classes commencing next week? Or the boring office work? Or my fast-declining chocz supplies? Or the pesky ex-supervisor who juz returned from her long vacation? Or the bf who's nonchalant about the new flat and my moods?

Finally booked an unit at JW Blk 987A, although it's not what I wanted initially. According to Ah Teng, the unit I wanted was a 'sick' unit, so it was a blessing in disguise. Hope this unit would have better fengshui.
This is the layout of my unit #561, and Ah Teng's unit #563 at the blk next to mine, several levels higher... Too bad we aint on the same level, else we could throw tidbits to each other. Ha!
Gotta wait another 6mths before we could collect the keys...Hmm...Quite a long wait.

Today started off like other typical Tuesday...I was in the bus listening to my mp3, when I thought I heard something about HDB Hub on the TVmobile, but the broadcast was too short to mean anything to me...

Upon reaching the office, I switched on computer, sipping at my brewed tea, ready to start the day with a game of freecell...then I suddenly thought of checking out HDB website, to see if there's any news of the JW wis...

Just as I saw the announcement on the site, my colleague shouted to me excitedly, that she had received an email alert from HDB (she was looking forward to the JW WIS too). With that, I phoned Ah Teng (who was with her bunny lah at that point in time) and quickly applied for halfday off...bearing in mind, my colleague's request for a copy of the application form too...

In less than an hour's time, I was in the queue...0292 was my number. The Indian lady at the reception was quite fierce-looking, so I was afraid of asking her for extra copies for Ah Teng & colleague...At Ah Teng's request, I proceeded to the counter again (hiding my own forms) asking if I could get a copy of the forms (careful to avoid the Indian receptionist)...Lucky the Chinese lady who attended to me the 2nd time was kind-looking, and I got two extra copies! Hee!!

Was quite disappointed to find out that not all the 98x blocks are released, calculated that there would only be 170+ units available...With my Q-no, guess I don't really stand much chance...Moreover, the keys would only be available in August next year...What's the difference between having a WIS now and a year later?

Another week of gorging ahead...that's what I do in the office when I'm stressed or bored...My pantry's running low...time to do some shopping...

Finished my cashflow last week, nothing special in my inbox...guess daydreaming's in my agenda for the week...

Spent the weekend watching the tube, found a new Korean soap series 'Princess Lulu', and the female lead had a stuffed toy which I saw during my Korean trip...I loved that stuffed toy...Didn't buy it that time, because it was quite expensive and I got too much stuffed toys at home...=(

Think the name of the toy was 'bubu' or something like that. I wasn't able to find any pix of it online but I remembered seeing it a couple of weeks ago in Suntec/Marina...

Happily Ever After

Last Friday (02/06/06) was probably one of Ah Teng’s happier days. She had her solemnisation dinner on that day. Close friends & relatives were around to give their blessings to the newly-wedded couple at the TungLok TeaHouse @ China Square.

At the dinner, I was seated at the same table with her bunch of crazy gals from secondary and JC days… Of course, I was the loner from primary school.

It was an honour to see the royal Queen of England and her slaves, as well as the talented Yollev in person. I also saw the pretty gal ‘Ah Pet’ aka Corrine May, and many others…

Luckily, Ah Teng found my bouquet up to her standards and it saved me the trouble from running to the nearby florist for an emergency replacement.

Was dead beat when I reached home, could barely drag myself to the showers before hitting the bed…Ah Teng must be more tired than me, but then the power of love is strong to keep her going on…

Uploaded the pictures taken on that day to Yahoo URL… As usual, my stupid digicam isn’t great with night shots, and always gives the wrong impression that the pix taken are nice (on screen) till they are downloaded to the computer…Hope the other ‘photographers’ took nicer shots…

With one ROM down, there’s another ROM awaiting me in the upcoming month…another opportunity to eat… Ha!

Bridal bouquet

Excited to post my new masterpiece in the blog...Finally, the female lead in the wedding this time round...Bridal bouquet!!!

The concept is the same as that of the bridesmaid's bouquet we did the previous week. The flowers are the only difference...supposedly to be more classy (and more expensive)...I prefer this to the previous week, coz the roses aint that squashed...

Teacher complimented us this time round (we got the right shape, though of varying sizes)...but most of the time, I thought I was just 'fooling' around. Didn't know what to do, just to cover the sponge and make sure there's no holes..Ha!

Ah Teng, hope your confidence in me isn't gona to falter at this point in time.

I gotta practise on my 'twisting' of the ribbon though...*sighs*

High tea @ Triple 3

Had my first high-tea buffet at Triple 3 restaurant, Meritus Mandarin last Sat...taste of a tai-tai life...Ha! To be honest, I was very disappointed at the foodfare...the food at Sakura Buffet was 10x better (to me) and much cheaper...($24 nett)

Bridesmaid’s bouquet

Finally! Got a chance to do a real bouquet…

As usual, the teacher demonstrated once on the cone-shaped sponge (not those normal wrapping as seen outside), and we followed suit…

It appeared to be easy, but when it was my turn to do, I didn’t know how to arrange the flowers (eustama) in equal distance from each other…The flowers also didn’t look very nice, having being flattened, I suppose…After the flowers, the tea leaves and baby’s breath went up to their places…

The teacher took a look at our masterpieces, then commented here and there… Most of us created a round shaped bouquet instead of the pear-shaped one…Ha! But guess it still came out unscathed…

Teacher said the bouquet could fetch a price of $60 in the market…the materials cost only $14.80…florists definitely earn a lot!

Walked all the way home with the bouquet in my hand, under the curious looks of passer-bys… Was deciding whether to give the bouquet to a colleague who’s leaving the company, or to mum for offering to the gods…Went for the latter, as the crushed flowers didn’t look very nice as gift…Ha!

Looking forward to next Thursday! We’ll be doing the bride’s bouquet!

Almost two weeks had passed since my first bridal floral arrangement class...Kinda regretted it as the teacher is quite strict and we gotta pay for the materials used, on top of the course fees...Should have bought a hand bouquet for Ah Teng instead..cheaper and saves the time...But there wouldn't be any thoughts...

Learnt how to make corsages to be pinned to the dress/shirt...in form of rose, orchids and carnation...

Here's my masterpieces...The rose corsage could sell for $3, the orchids for $4.50 and the carnation for $6 I suppose...

Woke up astart this morning from a nightmare...the whole office reality was transformed totally into my dream...piece for piece...
Why didn't I ever dream of striking the first prize, which would eventually become a reality?

Nothing to cheer me up...not even the upcoming Bunny Day...Thot of going Bintan, but there was no ferry seats and no cheap hotel rooms...save up for next trip...
Some friends juz came back from Thailand...some friends are going to Taipei...and some colleagues are going to Perth...i'm going nowhere...

How I wish that I'm bitchy and everyone's terrified of me!!!

I hate being the nicest person around in the whole office (think I deserve this title and no one would disagree with me...)

After the messy organisational revamp, I'm now reporting to five officers, and carrying out work for two more...today, another officer wanted me to do work for him too....I really had enough, and rejected him (of course, in a nice manner lah...) though I think he probably would seek revenge in the future (as he's gona be one of my official bosses too...)

6.30pm and I'm still stuck with my cashflow (another assignment dumped on me because I'm too nice & dumb to reject...) No one to guide me (the officer resigned...another one) and I'm pressed for time...

Despite the approaching CNY, I'm totally not in any festive mood...have yet to finish my spring cleaning and yet to buy the goodies...and definitely not looking forward to entertaining people...

Laoge arranged for a dinner session with me tomorrow evening...and again, Ms GoodyGoodShoes couldn't find a good excuse to turn down the dinner (had postponed it from last week....) *sighs* I'm simply too tired to laugh/talk with anyone else...(or lazy?)

My school project is also due too...have barely started on it (Where got time?!) Shucks!!

No more long weekends...if only we work a four-day week...weekends are always so short...

Had a hearty breakfast & lunch and two tea-breaks in the morning...*sniffs* Flu always makes me hungry...like a wolf....

Hardly slept last nite, being up in middle of nite killing another darn roachie!!

Had a happy time yesterday despite being sick...deer bought me a pair of inline skates and we went blading at West Coast...I had 3 falls on my buttocks...and my neck and waist are still aching from it...sobs...

Time now is 1442 hrs...and I'm already looking forward to my next teabreak...*chuckles*

While everyone's awaiting for the new year, I was at home blowing into tissues...I was sick!!
Definitely not a good way to start a new year...
I could hear cheers from the nearby church...10, 9, ... 3, 2, 1...Happy 2006!!!

Received a couple of sms from frens... and popped Panadols...that's my way of celebrating...
Switched off hp so that any incoming wishes wouldn't affect my sleep...that's wat I really needed...

Woke up several times at night feverish and with a sore throat...and visited the toilet to release water...

I fantasize of getting MC on Tues...Ha! Then I wouldn't have to go to work...
Speaking of work, Ms Bunny would be starting her life as a trainee teacher on Tues...Good Luck, gal!!! Must blog your exciting school life hor!! Maybe some kiddos will fall for the cute you! *winks*

Xmas came and went by in a glance...

Received only 3 cards this year (but I didn't send out any...hee)

Bunny, thanx for your cute eyore purse/bag...and your card...oh! was I mean to you this year?! Hee!! Maybe that could help form my new year resolution (to be meaner to u..ha)

Went cycling on Xmas eve at ECP...Wana try blading but the rental equipment was soooooo smelly!!! and damp!! bet they weren't cleaned since the 1st day of use....yucky!
Lunch was black pepper crab served at Punggol Seafood Restaurant...not bad..
With that, I selected my own Xmas present from bf...a sudoku electronic game...(carrefour selling it cheap...) and spent my Xmas Day playing it...till cocked eyes...>*0*<

My ex-colleague sms me yester that she had juz given birth to a baby boy on Xmas Eve...Woah!! Another baby to Spore population!! And cash outflow for me!!

Today's back to work again...*yawns* My dy director's back from her leave too...sighs...

Looking forward the long weekend again...
and yet to set any new year resolution...hopefully the new year would be a better year for the good people (I've been a good girl...)

Setback

On leave during the last few days...went back to office on Fri to clear some stuff...
Really regretted it...went to officer L with some queries on the system stuff she entrusted to me...
As I didn't have the authorisation (not my fault), she had to do it herself...somehow she was fed-up with the system (or me) and she shot me a question "What do you think of the implications of the system....? You studied ACCA, so you should know right?"
That really threw me back...The way she said it was like ridiculing me about doing ACCA and yet, couldn't accomplish anything she gave me...
Ya, I know I'm hopeless with the GL stuff, people mgt, studies etc...but I still couldn't hold back my sadnes...
It doesn't help that I was already debating whether to continue with my studies, and having exams at the same time...*sighs*
If only I had the guts to stand up to the bullies, for myself...

Finally KOREA!!!

Left for Spore on the 29th Oct, by Asiana Airlines.
It was quite a blur when we checked in because CTC didn't send a local guide from S'pore. Instead, they just sent someone to check in for the group.
Well, we were lucky coz the flight was full, and they upgraded us to the BUSINESS CLASS!! WOAH!! My first time in the biz class (hope they do the same for the return trip..Ha!)
The seats were really spacious, and this is the first time I don't have to sleep at a 90 deg angle. The seats could be manuver to a nearly 160 angle...there's a big TV screen, the air stewardesses were exceptionally attentive & courteous, the earphones, cushion etc were much much better! Even the restrooms were very well-equipped with refreshners, perfume, etc....
Most of all, the meals!! They served us drinks before flight, in glass 'wine' glasses (not plastic), and meals go along with a full set of fine cultery made of pewter!! Oh!! I'm sooooo PAMPERED! They even served us fruits (very nicely displayed), choice of endless breads (croissants, toast, buns etc) with a miniature bottle of jam, butter etc...(they only gave one serving in economy class seats)
Our plane touched down in Incheon at local time 6.30am (Spore 7.30am), met up with local guide Linda, and transferred to Gimpo Airport for the domestic flight to Jeju...It was a mere 8 degrees celsius when we arrived...was told that the winter season had arrived early this year...
It's about time we board the domestic flight...

Rrriiinnnggg!!!

There goes my alarm at 6.30am...Today is Saturday but I don't get the luxury of sleeping late today...Gotta get up for the 'Carpet Combing' exercise today.

Reached the meeting point near Bt Gombak MRT at 7.4oam. Thank god it's just five bus-stops from my house else I would be really late.
Finished my box of breakfast but the exercise didn't start till an hour later.

Armed with larvacide (insecticide targeting at larva), torchlights, and other essentials, our team of four members proceeded to cover the 12 blocks assigned to us.
It was quite slow initially but after some warm-ups, things speeded up for us later.

By 11am, we were back at the meeting point again. Everything went smoothly though it rained for a while and it was really humid. Our team only managed to find a open container which contains wriggling larva, so we took a sample of it (using a pipette & vial provided) before someone came to take a snapshot as evidence. It was said that the larva could be 4-5days old, so I've got no idea how no one could have possibly miss such a big ice-cream tupperware which had collected water for so long!!

It wasn't really that tough...the only complaint is that I had to sacrifice my beauty sleep...*yawns*
Now it's time for the dreamland...zzZZzz

After delay of ten weeks, the promotion results are finally out!

Though I got my promotion, I wasn't the least happy...coz the difference between my existing pay and new pay is a mere gross $100+ (less with CPF)...And for this, my colleagues developed red eyes...not justifiable for the treatment I received...

Another colleague who's here for a longer period (by a few mths) was not promoted...Reason given was that she's too young (20/21 yrs) to be promoted...all because the company followed a stupid system of age & seniority...I wasn't promoted last year because I didnt meet the min.3 yrs' requirement & there wasn't any staff under me...

What a 'great' company...to think it uses the value 'living, learning, caring organisation'...No one cares for the small fries...

Spent Sun watching Initial-D (my sis borrowed the vcd from her student), eating & sleeping...a true couch potato...

Don't feel like moving from my seat today, wana just try to cower in my seat, staying as low profile as possible...Hopefully the day will pass by fast...
But there're still issues that need to be settled...like the overdue postage recon, my journals still pending for signatures (don't understand why the bosses here always like to be chased for documents that had went into their doors for more than a mth!) etc...
Must finish my stuff before I go on trip & exams...

Oh! Ms Bunny, you remembered the chix franks we bought for the supposed camping trip?
Guess what? There's gona be another electrical shutdown at my blk again tomorrow, and I'm under strict orders to finish them! Still got four more franks to go...(feeling sick already)...

Went to bed yesterday (in fact, tis morning since it was past midnight...) with stars flying above my head...

Surprisingly, i woke up before 7am, clear-headed & unable to go back to my dreams...So, I managed to do some reading...something I haven't been able to do for a long long time...
Guess will hit the sack pretty early today, hope Teng virus didn't break down my system..Certainly don't wana go to Korea sick...waste $...

21 more days down the road, and i'll be making my way to the Changi airport, hop onto a plane to Korea!! Not that i'm really looking forward to it (really busted my budget...no $ to spend...sobs) but perhaps a trip outta Spore might do my soul some good...(but not for my pockets)
Ms Bunny, you must be counting down to your Taiwan trip too!! Did you watch tonite's "10 words crossroads"? The game was held in Taidong...all the yummy crabs!! (Can't stand the bimbo gal partnering that Jackie....*gooseebumpss*)

Can't wait to end my course...thinking of taking up Korean language class (hopefully, well-versed in it) & maybe, piano/keyboard class... (not cheap...but i think we should at least learn something to cultivate ourselves...)

Came across this word 'chincherinchee' in the dictionary while I was checking the spelling for 'chimney' (Gosh! I probably would fail my primary school spelling! Hmm...Maybe I did mispell it last time?)...
Since this word begins with my last name 'chin', thought perhaps I could rename my blog...The dictionary defined it as "S African plant with white/yellow flower spikes"...A search in Yahoo engine gave more details...

Name: Also known as Ornithogalum and Star of Bethlehem. The Greeks used the term "bird's milk" ornithos (bird) and gala (milk) to describe something incredible. The South Africans know them as "tjenkenrientjee" which is where the odd English name chincherinchee comes from.

Ms bunny was kind enough to date me for lunch today...but she was gila enough not to stay put at home..Ha!

Forgot today got fire drill at the office...Took the lift for the first time instead. Most of the people does that.

And when it was done, I was queried by a section head, on why my section was so empty just mins before the drill...

I always got the feeling that she's not happy with me...most probably because her staff was ever 'insulted' on a company intranet forum, and the suspect was someone whom I befriended then. They probably thought I was a useless lass (can't blame me coz I was just a newbie then with nothing to do)...Now, I'm under her indirect jurisdiction, and on the black list of many others...

Sighs...Will tomolo get worse? (Thinking she might complain to my other section head...)

First thing in the morning, I saw my journals being rejected again by officer...i ought to make a more thorough check before I submit it again...

Impervious Curse

Under a persistent headache curse over the weekend that resulted in no homework done (as usual) and my only achievement was bullet-reading the sixth book of Harry Potter (the half-blood prince) now three-quarters completed...

Went to a preview talk on 'The bates method' which basically boasted of this natural vision therapy designed by someone called 'Bates' (couldn't recall much of the blabbering due to my painful spasms). He claimed that our body has this capability of healing every part of itself, including our eyes...and specs aint really helpful (in fact, they worsen) in our eyesight. With specs, our myopia conditions don't seem to improve, but in fact, increase with each pair of new fitting. And of course, our myopia conditions are greatly influenced by the amount of stress we suffered (no wonder i always find my degrees increasing by leaps and bounds)...
But it'll cost $600 to sign up for the 4-hour workshop... so i thought it might be better to find ways to lessen the stress levels...haa...(the fees would probably add on to my stress levels..haa!!)
Anyway, i supported the idea through purchase of a pair of eyewear from Guardian (consisting of black film with lotsa pinholes) which i find does help in clearer views (compared to not wearing any specs)... Enough of these (since they aint paying me to advertise for them) ...

Just spotted a big roachie somewhere in the living room...argh!! Guess another sleepless nite for me again (haven't been able to sleep thru the nites these days..perhaps this laid the curse for my headache)...

Another new week beckoning to me...sighs...

Feeling real bored at home today...
Watched the remaining episodes of the Jap animation 'The Last Exile' in the morning, and snacking throughout the day...
Evening came and followed by an urge to get outta house...Jogged from my house to the nearby Bt Batok Nature Reserve, and i was real glad that i did it... Ha!
Found rubber seeds and they brought back memories of excursions during primary school, when my science teacher used to bring us closer to mother nature...
And spotted four squirrels scampering here and there..and two birds with funny tails...Too bad there wasn't any monkeys...
Looking forward to my next trip there again and perhaps, Bt Timah Nature Reserve...=)

My last trip outta S'pore was the last National Day weekend...a year ago...

Was looking forward to a BKK trip this coming National Day again, but wasn't able to get any tickets and bf got a class that weekend...BUMMER!!

Sighs...think my heartburn gona last till the next vacation...or even longer...

Wish i could be like my sis, travelling through Europe for more than two mths...not bothering myself with work, studies, family or life matters...Just wake up to the chirping birds, sights and wonders of the world...

Tomolo's working day again...seeing those colleagues again...sighs...No respect from anyone in office, felt so demoralised and useless...

Today marks my twenty-fifth birdday!!!
Nothing special that's worth mentioning...except I had a real difficult time posting tis entry...This is my 4th attempt, with the 1st and 3rd posting deleted accidentally by me, and the 2nd entry by the power failure...

Woke up early in the morning to attend a full day lesson on Advanced Taxation...Couldn't concentrate coz kept having painful spasms at back of head that lasted the whole day...So painful...
Lesson was blur...wondering if i've made the right choice in selecting this module...it was the second toughest paper, next to Adv Audit...
Whatever it is, just gotta go thru...
I've never been so weak spiritually in the past...duno why nothing seems to be right for the past few years....getting more and more demoralised and tired by burdens in life...

Typing this with my aching arms...and bagful eyes...
Had my first paper today... only managed to do 3 outta the 4 required questions...and incomplete answers... Hope it's enough to get me a P...
Hate the authorities for arranging such an awful venue for exams...no aircon in this tropical climate for 3 whole hours, and sweaty palms made gripping of the pen difficult...gotta grip it real hard...end up with sore arm...
Only got a handful of winks...so sleepy...*yawns*
Still gotta to tackle another tough paper...the one i failed last term...sighs...i hate AUDIT!! Never thought that it would be that difficult...The questions were tricky...with the stingy time (so far only two papers i managed to finish on time...haa)

Had a difficult time from family during the revision period...sobbed not because of the studies but because everything always come tumbling at the same time...sometimes think that tis is nothing compared to those who had suffered alot more than me...but at times i do admit (rather be) a weakling...let people help me...if only people would help...things are just so difficult to handle...and if things aren't worse enough...god has more in his bag...
Wonder... am i an asset or liability in god's balance sheet... his revenue or cost in the profit statement... am i paying off my debt (if so, how long?) or am i slowly depreciating in value?
Do the credits add up to the debits? Would god show individuals his account books? Offer business plans to us? (Do know 666 has contracts as thick as law books... else there wouldn't be so many successful people...)
Do good people really get what they deserved? And do the bad guys get their desserts? (Why do they still get to eat yummy stuff when they've done wrong? And obedient people only get carrots in return)
Boy...cranky ideas again... think i'm due for a chess game with Grandpa Zhou...

Been in low spirits lately...duno why...was it because of work? People? Dough? Or studies?
Guess all of the above...
Wish i could throw everything aside and jump onboard a ship that would bring me outta this world, perhaps the space? Just like the hyperspace in Star Wars...Then i would need more than a ship...the Millenium Falcon?!?!

Maybe i could do with some illusions??
If i've a million (Best if it's in Sterling pounds..or USD?? SGD will also do..Ha!~), what would i do with it?

Save some (perhaps in some high interest FD account? That would earn enough interest to last me for a lifetime)
Donate to charity! (Of course, especially i got through my poly years with the kind help in form of bursaries/scholarships)
Travel to different parts of the world (we ought to see more, learn more & appreciate more)
Set up my own biz (i've always wana have a cosy cafe!! Leave the drinks to me, but not the food...hee!!)

**Pioneer Leader**
Heard about the demise of our ex-president, Mr Wee Kim Wee who's well-known for being the people's president..A very humble gentleman, a loss to our nation..and a leader who'll be missed by all...
This makes me wonder who our next president would be...A presidential election would probably be held this year, as most of my colleagues received letters of appointment at an to-be election...and who would be running for it?
What makes a good president? Who do you think are considered to be one of our finest president?
To me, that would definitely mean the late Mr Wee, Mr Ong & Mr Yusof Ishak...
Where it comes to S'pore leaders/politicians, my dad has lotsa opinions/complaints to offer...and usually, his views are totally different from mine.
It seems that the older folks don't really appreciate the PAP, but to the younger generation, PAP is the only political group that we know. So when it comes to election, it's only reasonable that we vote for them..Are there things that the older generation knows and that we don't know? Hmm...But i've always regarded our PM Mr Lee Hsien Long as my idol, way back when he joined the Cabinet...Reason? Because he looks HANDSOME to me then!! Haa!! But now his crown has greyed alot..being in the post of a leader isn't easy..

Okay. Enough of the politics...

Stayed home the whole day, and ate double portions for my meals...all thanks to mom who cooked soo much!! BURPS!!

Went to friend's housewarming @ Toh Guan today. He just married his wife, Kangqi after 4 years of pursuit. Think they were secondary schoolmates but didn't get together till some time later.
Got to know this guy when i was working part-time in MacDonalds. He's really a helpful chap and Mr Nice in our outlet. Didn't really keep in touch with him, so was quite surprised when he invited us to his wedding & housewarming.
He said he's inviting us again when his wife gives birth (but don't think it's a shotgun marriage..haa). But the wife really loves kids (she's a nursery teacher) so i think they gona have kids soon...Then i would have to give angbao! Oh NO!!

What follows next is yummy dim sum from East Ocean Teochew restaurant @ Shaw House..Ordered the cute dim sum - Prince Charming (in shape of froggies), Ms Dolphin, Ugly Ducklings, Little Big Dinosaurs & shrimp dumplings (steamed/fried)...
Of all, ugly ducklings was my favorite...they were so cute that i couldn't bear to sink my teeth into them...
The tastiest would be the fried shrimp dumplings!! The prawns were sooo succulent..hmm...
We were especially happy because we were charged the price of five, when we ordered six dishes! Ha! Guess the waitress missed out one...Ha!

Woke up at 7.30 am to go NP library..

Alighted at Toh Yi and spent a good fifteen minutes walking to the side door, but think the security now checks the student passes before he allows entry. My pass had expired when i graduated, so no choice but to return to the bus-stop and take bus to the main entrance..What a nitwit i am!

Reached the library finally...read some papers and the librarian came around, found out i wasn't a student (but i was an ex-student mah!) so i was asked to leave...sighs..what could get worse?!
So, I packed up and left at 10.00 am...
WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME!! To think i actually applied for leave, to undergo all these..*wails*

After all the hassle, i'm back to where i started off...home...at 11.00 am

Sunday...woke up with a headache..Tried to go through some notes, but admitted defeat after a few lines...

Turned to reading a book which my sis borrowed.."Can you keep a secret?" it's by the same author of the fictional book "Shopaholics". The leading gal, Emma was a gal who had secrets from almost everyone. She's been job-hopping and having bad luck, unsuccessful in career while she looked on others who had everything she possibly couldn't have, despite her futile attempts (that always land her in a more distrastrous situations). Then, she broke up with a gorgeous boyfriend (and to be labelled by everyone as 'insane') whom she realised she didn't truly love...will she finally be a happy twenty-five year-old gal? Maybe shall recommend to those gals who are in their downs?

Hot! It's really a hot Sunday. Sunday isn't my favorite day of the week, coz it's kinda boring and the thought of having to return to work the next day definitely puts me off...The fact that I'm on leave tomorrow doesn't really cheers me up much..(I'm supposed to be hitting my notes)

Decided to hit the stores for some chips and coke. Hopefully i can make it home without melting...

Was able to catch an extra hour of sleep..no work today..but Frango training is on. Reached the MRT station at half past eight, drenched in perspiration. Weather is really hot!!

0910hrs - Stepped into the classroom. i was the second person to arrive *phew*.

Class was really boring, and i couldn't figure out anything. Couldn't leave after the morning session, so gotta pull myself through it.

1730hrs - Finally!! Got a free ride back home. It began to rain, and it was pouring the moment i stepped into the house. Saved! Had dinner in front of the cube, finished a bag of Twisties & some chocolate...my mood lifted abit. Decided to leave a mark here...

PeanutButter are sleeping...they look so cute and peacefully...such darlings!

Today's class ended with me nursing a headache (again). i must really attempt to touch the notes soon, hopefully...don't wish to flunk again.

Had been thinking what good use could i put this blog to..perhaps to write articles that no one, except me, would bother to read? Or shall it be a bedtime story that could help to put others to bed?

Having a crash course tomorrow on some kinda budgeting system (Frango). Hope it's not as diffficult as it seems..Looking forward to learning new stuff, but definitely not looking forward to spending a day with those proud officers...Hope i don't have to lunch with them..
